ABLE supplies idlers for trouble free conveyor operations. A wide range of 'sealed for life' type idlers, either with seize resistant or deep groove ball bearings, are manufactured and supplied to suit specific requirements and applications.

Both fixed bracket type (in-line & staggered) idlers and garland type idlers are manufactured by ABLE. All idlers conform strictly to IS:8598. The idler spindles are made from EN-8 or C-40 conforming to BS:970 or IS:1570 respectively. Idler selection is guided by the type of material handled, belt speed and service requirement

Salient Features
  • Conforms to IS: 8531-1986.
  • Each Pulley is designed according to position in conveyor, considering all tension parameters.

Rubber / Ceramic Lagging
  • Drive pulley lagging is usually provided to increase traction between belt and pulley.
  • Snub and bend pulleys rubber lagging resists accumulation of material on pulley surface.
  • Pulleys with Ceramic Lagging is also provided
Design Construction
  • Welded steel pulleys are of drum type, with rim, end disc and hubs designed to give maximum strength with reasonable weight.
  • Solid end disc construction, with minimum rim overhang, prevents accumulation of material.
  • Smooth pulley surface provide maximum belt protection.
  • Hubs and end disc are accurately machined to assure concentricity.
  • Pulleys are available with straight or crowned face.
  • Pulley shaft are made from carbon steel/EN-8 and are designed for torque and bending moment.
  • Normally shafts are keyed in hub. However, taper lock bushing for ease of maintenance can be provided.
  • Shafts are welded to pulley hub in case of light duty.
 

‘ABLE’ manufactures a large variety of Idler Frames according to customer requirements. Idler Frames are supplied for a standard range suitable for belt widths from 300 mm to 2400 mm. These are manufactured using mainly structural sections usually supplied as galvanized or painted. Idler frames are designed to accommodate for the operational characteristics of the conveyor.

‘ABLE’ also provides Idler Frame using tubular sections with mounting brackets below the tube. This provides protection to the belt from tears in the event of a roller coming out of the frame. Troughing idlers are manufactured according to customer requirement to accommodate 1, 2, 3 or 5 idlers.
